Today is a simple, joyful day and average, as far as one can be being a bush pilot.
Then I get a message that I am doing a flight test next week with a notorious instructor.
“Oh crap!!” Joy is gone and replaced by anxiety and worry.
Essentially, nothing has changed externally. I am still sitting outside in the sun, just like I was two moments ago, but I feel different.
What has changed though, are my thoughts. A new, stress-provoking thought has arisen in my mind, changing how I feel. I am aware of this thought and decide to change my outlook on it.
I replace worrying thoughts with peaceful thoughts. I find out that he actually is a very nice person and a great instructor. I can only learn from him.
Calm and joy come back. Actually, they never left, they were just clouded by my thoughts.
